Prague is Sooo Hot!

Coming to Prague was definitely a major highlight for me.  It was my first time in Eastern Europe, and I couldn't stop marveling at all the history and culture.  Too bad for the teams, production crew, and me, we wouldn't have enough time to really explore this truly spectacular place, and I would love to come back one day on my own time.

As soon as we entered the city, I started firing away with my camera.  My host crew was slightly ahead of the teams so we had to hurry to the various locations to get the shots completed before they donned their knight's armor and completed their other tasks.

It was a picture perfect day in the Town Square, and there were throngs of people everywhere.  I had a difficult time getting my shots done because there was a lot of sound interference with various tour guides leading tour groups everywhere.  It was bustling!

My soundman Martin is an absolute perfectionist when it comes to audio recording so he was not enjoying the ambiance as much.   However, the beautiful Czech Republic people could easily put a smile on his face, especially the women!

I still remember this pit stop clearly because I heard it was the hottest day in Prague in years that day, and initially we had nowhere to take cover from the sun.  I don't know the exact temperature, but it was scorching!  Check out how the pit stop mat has started to contort from frying under the sun.  In the picture above, you can see an ancient castle in the background.

Above is a better view of it.  Fortunately, our greeter in this leg was really "cool" and found some cover for us...

...I know this probably ain't the Ritz, but it certainly did the job.  Actually, this was an old pig stable that was abandoned during World War II.  Villagers actually hid in these pig troughs to avoid the German Nazis.

It's been a long, hot day of major UV rays, but at last the sun must go down.  I absolutely love this picture I took of a river near the pit stop.  Actually, we had so much time waiting for Terri and Henry to arrive that some of the production crew cooled down in the water.  I'm sure everyone's wondering, "Just how much longer can they stay in the Race??"

I hope you enjoyed these pictures from Prague and the recent episode of The Amazing Race Asia.  The producers of the race have told me that they think next week's episode is the best of this entire season so definitely try to catch it and tell me what you think!  I'm gonna try running out here in Beijing so let's see how far I can go before I freeze!

See ya soon!
