Speed is great

Speed is perfect.

It's got everything a guy could want in a movie.

It's got action (self explainatory)

It's got intentional comedy (That tourist dude from LA)

It's got unintentional comedy (Keanu Reeves trying to be serious. "I'M FROM THE EFFF BEEE EYE! WHOA!!"

It's got explosions.

It's got an over the top villian in Dennis Hopper (who has 11 TVs stacked in his room. But instead of using only one TV to watch the bus and the other 10 on sports, 90210, or porn, he has all 11 TVs tuned into the bus. The man is focused!)

It's got one half of the greatest comedic duos of all time (Harry from Dumb and Dumber)

It's got the stereotypical angry Cop boss and the token Black FBI leader who is hard-nosed but with a heart of gold and looks after his team like cats look after their kittens.

It's got that surprise twist (HE CAN SEE THE BUS AFTERALL! OMG DENNIS HOPPER IS STILL ALIVE!)

It's got the generic slomo kiss scene (as they're sliding down downtown LA for that matter. But nothing is stopping Keanu from laying one on the wildcat)

And it's got a bus jumping a 50 foot gap on the high way.

I can watch this everyday for the rest of my life.

Oh and there's this ridiculous scene where Jeff Daniels is being held at gunpoint. So to free him, Keanu shoots Jeff in the leg, which is so surprising that Dennis Hoppers lets Jeff go and is then caught at gunpoint.

Jeff's not mad at all. Why? Because IT WAS HIS IDEA. He came up with the plan in a ridiculous exchange in the movie.

Jeff: Say you know the best way to save a hostage when he's being held at gunpoint

Keanu: What dude?

Jeff: You shoot the hostage.

I'm tired of watching movies that try to be all deep and where the characters go through character arcs. I'm tired of people using big words in movies (freaking Watchmen). I want more movies like Speed, where Keanu Reeves has 2 expressions and never say a word of more than 4 syllables. From the beginning, he's good. There is no twist. It's just him fighting Dennis Hopper.

God I love this movie.

No. I <3 this movie.
